Katy Perry's 'Roar' Set to Debut With More Than 525,000 Copies Sold

Katy Perry's "Roar" is ready to rule this week's Billboard 100. Billboard reported that the 28-year-old singer's latest single, which was previously expected to sell around 450,000 copies, is now set to debut with 525,000 and 550,000.

That will mark Perry's largest opening week to date. Her previous best sales figure came in the last week of 2010, when her hit single "Firework" sold 509,000 copies.

"Roar" will outsell "Applause", Lady GaGa's newest song which was debuted after prematurely hitting the web last week. Having been projected to sell 200,000-225,000 copies in its first week, "Applause" can't defeat "Born This Way", GaGa's 2011 hit that debuted with 448,000.

"Roar" and "Applause" serve as the lead singles off the pop singers' respective upcoming albums. Perry's "Prism" is slated to drop on October 22 while GaGa's "ARTPOP" is due November 11.

The official Nielsen SoundScan sales figures for both songs will be announced on Wednesday, August 21.

50 Fans Arrested at Eminem's Concert...Wow?

 

 

Many fans were arrested at a recent Eminem show.

More than 50 fans were reportedly arrested at Eminem's weekend show in Ireland, with some reports putting the number as high as 63.
The rapper performed at the country's Slane Castle to a crowd of 80,000 fans, requiring major forms of security including a reported presence from the Coast Guard, local law enforcement, and private security staff. Said security officers became necessary during the show, as 22 people were reportedly arrested for committing "public order offenses." An additional 35 concert-goers were also arrested for crimes including drug offenses and assault, according to the Press Association.
Eminem performed in Ireland just days after the release of his first new song in years. Last week, Slim Shady debuted "Survival," a song which is featured in the video game "Call of Duty: Ghosts" and is the first track off of his upcoming eighth studio album.
Marshall Mathers, who has yet to comment on the arrests, is scheduled to perform four more shows in Europe this month. The rapper will headline the Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as playing shows in France and Glasgow.

Chelsea have already had two bids for Rooney rejected by United, with David Moyes insisting the striker is not for sale at any price.

And Mourinho is set to test that resolve once more, perhaps even before the trip to Old Trafford this weekend.

"We will try till the last day to add a new player to the squad, a striker, but in this moment every striker has a club, every striker belongs to somebody and I don't think it's ethical that I name players that belong to other clubs," said Mourinho, following Chelsea's 2-0 defeat of Hull.

"We don't try, like many clubs do, to go around and try to influence players to behave in a certain way.

"If we have to make a bid, we make it in an official way, we don't speak to players, we speak to clubs."


 

The self-proclaimed Special One was enthused by the first-half performance, in particular, on his homecoming.
Goals from Oscar and Frank Lampard, who also had a penalty saved, saw Mourinho's men triumph in an incident-packed match which saw goal-line technology employed in the top-flight for the first time when Allan McGregor saved from Branislav Ivanovic.
"I played so many times here, I won so many matches here, but we didn't have so many periods of such fantastic quality like we had (against Hull)," Mourinho said.
"I'm happy we managed to win and we managed to show that this is the football we want to play, this is the football we can play.
"Now it's up to us to make it happen more times and more times during the game."

True, breaking up may not be easy. But marriage is a permanent bond. It’s better to live with short-term pain now than suffer with lifelong regret later!

Choose your associates carefully. If your friends and classmates start to talk about immoral sex, joining in will only make it more difficult for you to control your thoughts. Often, you can find a way to leave such conversations without appearing self-righteous and inviting ridicule.

Would you allow viruses to invade your computer? Then why invite immoral thoughts into your mind?

Shun immoral entertainment. Much of today’s entertainment is designed to arouse improper sexual feelings. The Bible’s counsel? “Let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God’s fear.” (2 Corinthians 7:1) Steer clear of entertainment that stimulates sexual desires.

Remember this: Sexual feelings aren’t evil in themselves. After all, God created man and woman to have a strong attraction for each other, and satisfying sexual desire is proper within marriage. So if you experience intense sexual urges, don’t think that you’re inherently bad or that you’re just not cut out for moral cleanness.

The bottom line: You can choose what you will let your mind dwell on. Both in your thinking and in your conduct, you can be chaste if you choose to!
